Eat, drink and be merry! :)

I've been wanting to blog for so long now, but I couldn't because I've been loaded with assignments, family obligations and some work related dillema of my own. But, the good part is, since it's the holiday week, I've been going around jalan-jalan cari makan, and I can't wait to post the pictures here.

First up, THE APARTMENT, The Curve...

Gotta love the creativity that makes them stand out from other places, but the service was extremely unsatisfactory. We had to wait ages until our food came, and we ordered desert with our entrees, but we had to wait a good 30 minutes even after we called for it -_- So, anyway, food was good, we had some sort of cod fish soup for starters, and then we had Chicken in a Bag, I was so eager to see what kind of bag they were talking bout, then it arrived, and aluminium foil bag, ceh... hehe... nevertheless, I loved the dish because when we opened the bag, the aroma of the chicken in cheesy sauce was enough to feed our souls, the desert, something chocolatey, was heavenly too :) Sorry, no pics of those, was busy eating so we could get back to work.

Then, I don't know if it was all the talk about eating good donuts, or the frustration of never having tried Krispy-Kreme donuts, I suddenly had to go get some donuts. I drove right away to Big Apple (The Curve) and bought 6 delicious donuts. I was happy.

And so was my nephew...

Next stop, would be Japanese-o, yummy-licious :)

Had my Salmon Teriyaki at this place in Centrepoint, it's called Momo, if I'm not mistaken. I simply love the environment there, the energy is so tranquil and serene, I feel as though I stepped into another world for lunch, which is pleasing, really...

And then, I also went to the Paddington Pancake House, and the usual T.G.I.F, I'm not gonna bother posting pics cz I always makan there, so no biggie lor...

We went to this place in One Utama called Jack's Place, which was pretty good, I loved the menu because it wasn't the usual boring chicken in black pepper sauce kinda crap, this one had some really creative sauces, like my collegue tried this chicken dish that came with orange and herb sauce, which tasted fabulous!

And then, of course, there are family functions which make you laugh and catch up with cousins that live oh-so-far-away :)

What's your Heineken moment?

Me loves me gramps! :)

Addiction...

Yes, as if my addictions to reading daily gossip blogs aren't enough, I have actually found something wayyy more addictive than all of it put together - FACEBOOK

Damn those people who came up with the fantabulous idea, I'm wasting so much precious time on it, I know I should stop, but how can you resist throwing a used tampon on someone, and bitch slapping another??? sigh...

I'm kinda free at work today, cz 1) I left the test papers I was supposed to mark at home and 2) I'm so absorbed in facebook, I'm not even attempting to do my assignments. I should really have an adult watching over me -_-

Neway, I was having this conversation with Becky, when the ho said this:

Becky Feelin' Better says:
eh,
Becky Feelin' Better says:
gotta tell you something funny
geri says:
wat?
Becky Feelin' Better says:
gimme a second
geri says:
ok
geri says:

geri says:

Becky Feelin' Better says:
someone said something about Air Asia
geri says:
ok
geri says:
wat bout it
Becky Feelin' Better says:
so my colleague, Emily said, "Wei, dont la say anything.. me and Air Asia are best friends..."
Becky Feelin' Better says:
then I said, "best friends, huh? you guys hang out and stuff?"
Becky Feelin' Better says:
she said, "yeah, we went to Starbucks this weekend"
Becky Feelin' Better says:
and I said, "Hey, I went to Starbucks too... how come we didnt run into each other?"
Becky Feelin' Better says:
and Emily said, "yeah, we did... you were there with Virgin, werent you?"
Becky Feelin' Better says:
and I said, "Erm... I dont think we can call Geraldine that..."
Becky Feelin' Better says:

hahaha
geri says:
hahaha
geri says:

geri says:
lol

Becks you 'ho, just cz ur one, doesn't mean everybody is one ok, lol, and Alexander Petrovsky is OLD! :P

Speed Dating - Malaysian Style

I went to Bangsar for brunch on Saturday with Becks the Cracks when she suddenly burst out saying, "I wanna try speed dating!"

I was just looking at her blankly thinking why would anyone go through that kinda torture, when men take longer than 2 minutes to get deciphered. Heck, you don't even know them well enough even after you're married to them.

So then she explained that it's just one of those things she wants to do, and I had to accept that argument of course. I've always wanted to do so many things, like eat a Krispy Kreme donut, or bungee jump, or get a tattoo, go on a cruise to the Caribbean, go visit Grenadine and lie on a hammock the whole day doing nothing but sipping a cocktail (sigh), and the list goes on. So this is just one of "those" things that Becks wanted to do...

Then we started discussing about how the Indian speed dating scenario would be and we burst out laughing. We decided that it would probably be in an Indian restaurant, with the 4 seaters coz he would bring his mom along, and we would go in, with just ourselves :P. Then, his mom would prob start off the conversation by asking how old we were, or can we cook, etc, and he would be playing games on his PSP. If in any case, he starts talking, he would probably get shushed by his mother, and he would obey, of course! lol

And then we imagined Bradshaw pulling through the restaurants driveway with her vrooom vrooom sports car and boob-popping top, and all the mothers would gasp and start gossiping about her. BHAHHHHAHAHAH. It's such a funny thing to even imagine la, we burst out laffin so hard in the restaurant that we were in! lol.

Anyway, back to my life, my lack of blogging is because I finally started going to the gym. Bad news is, I broke my I'm-not-shopping-till-christmas vow I made to myself :(

I spotted this bag while shopping for new sports shoes and attire, and I couldn't resist. It's soooo Anya Hindmarch-ish kan?
Totally loves it!

And that's a pointless picture of me smiling, pouting and showing off my pearly whites, hehe...

I have a new crush...

Hello, I'm not so old ok, I'm still allowed to have crushes.

The latest being, Mr. Daniel Henny *drools*

Since I had a long weekend, I decided to watch this Korean movie called "Seducing Mr. Perfect" and I ended up having a MAJOR crush on Mr. Perfect himself *yes baby, you are perfect* :P

Because I had a crush on him, I couldn't concentrate on the storyline la, cz whenever he appeared on screen I would drool away, lol, so I had to watch the movie twice la. Who am I kidding, I still don't know what the story is about. They should just remake the movie with only his scenes in it, and the rest should be deleted la.

I'm nominating him for HAWT STUD of the year!

T.O.R.N.

I Will Be There For You
By The Rembrandts

So no one told you life was going to be this way
Your jobs a joke, you're broke, your love life's DOA.

It's like you're always stuck in second gear
And it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year
but.. I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...

You're still in bed at ten
And work began at eight
You've burned your breakfast
So far... things are goin' great

Your mother warned you there'd be days like these
Oh but she didn't tell you when the world has brought
You down to your knees that...

I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...

No one could ever know me
Seems you're the only one who knows
What it's like to be me
Someone to face the day with
Make it through all the rest with
Someone I'll always laugh with
Even at my worst I'm best with you, yeah

It's like you're always stuck in second gear
And it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year...

I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...

I'll be there for you
I'll be there for you
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...

Yes hun, I'll always be there for you, love you to bits no matter where you are and where you go. I'm so emo now, so I can't really express what I want to say, so much has changed in such a short span of time. All I know is I never wanna lose you, not now, not ever, so yea, like I said, I'm just not ready to give you up. You mean the world to me, you are my family, even closer actually, coz no one else would actually have the liberty to be in your place, ever. I can't believe you are all grown up now, and that I have to leave my wonderful days that I shared with you behind, it's painful, but at the same time, I can't help but be extremely happy for you.

I love you, always have, always will...

Merdeka!

I was teaching my students on Thursday morning, as usual, and then I realized that normally my students would be in the hype mode of learning, they would be bombarding me with questions right, left and center, and they were sooo extremely quiet that morning.

So I was thinking, I'd give them a break, and then let them in la, but instead, they wanted to end the class coz they had plans since it's the 50th Merdeka... and they weren't even Malaysians.

-_-

I then found out that most of them had plans to go to one place or another since it was a long weekend, and yea, like me, they were also on the holiday mode already.

Finally I let them go 30 minutes before class was supposed to end. Went back to the staffroom, and everybody was in the holiday mode already, heedless to say, I joined them :)

After work, we all got together and decided we shall go have crabs :) yummmmyyyyy:)

It just so happen, my friend's brother owned this chain of seafood restaurant somewhere at Kota Damansara, it's called Atlantis. We all, apa lagi, set off on our journey to jalan-jalan cari makan.

As soon as we got there, I, as usual, was busy camwhoring, while the rest were chit-chatting with my friend's brother, a.k.a The Owner.

I thought the place had a good location, but they could have done more for the deco. One thing that amazed me was that they had turned the IKEA bins into lamps :O

IKEA bins cum lamp!

So creative right? Cheap and nice also... I don't know if anyone else noticed it, coz I kept staring at it and everybody was asking me why, hehe, didn't say anything la... hehe. The aquariums in the shop however, was anything but ordinary, I present to you:

Leopard print Eel!!!

And it was blardy long ok! I got a shock when I saw this, coz normally when you go eat seafood, you always see live koi's and all la, but nothing like this! The only time I was amazed was when I went to the Kelana Seafood, and they had a FREAKING HUGE FISH there. It beloged in the sea la wei! The other fishes in the aquarium was pretty cool also la, there were also leopard print fish! So cute la.. Then I asked the owner, "This one just for show or can eat?"

His reply came as a real shock to me- "Can eat la! Special order!" Wah... so jakun la me...

Gotta hand it to this shop when it comes to unique menu la wei, they had chicken in strawberry sauce! And according to my freind, it's damn good.

Chicken in Strawberry Sauce

Anyway, back to the food, for starters, we ate chicken feet soup. It was my first time, but I gotta tell you, it tasted pretty good.

Chicken feet soup

Then, we had crab cooked in salted egg yolk, and another crab dish, cooked in some tangy tasting sauce. Both tasted oh-sooo-freakin-good!

Crab cooked with Salted egg-yolk

We also had some vege dishes, we had potato leaves cooked with ginger and also the "King of Beans"-basically 4 different types of beans that were cooked with belacan and petai! Super yum! :) We ordered some steamed buns to go with our gravy from the crab, and that was also heavenly. Sorry, no more pics of the other food coz my hands were dirty from eating crab, hehe.

To tell you the truth, I have eaten crabs many times, especially since I stay near a very famous crab outlet, but I have never tried eating them cooked like this la. Felt so adventurous that day, hehe. Part of the reason why I love eating with Chinese people, they are such adventurous eaters, hehe. So anyway, all of us gave up, but there was one strong survivor going at it, my fav bubbly Angie. She soo reminds me of herself, such a cute darling. She was like, you guys go ahead and talk, leave me outta it, I'm enjoying my food, hehe.

Cutie pie Angie

This is how our table looked like once we were done eating.

We couldn't finish all of it la, gave up halfway- too much la.

The Jalan -jalan cari makan gang:

Wan the bee fun, Polly and Angie

Ms. Kwan and Ah Chan - by the way, Ms. Kwan's top sooo reminds me of the eel -_-

And finally, Moi

That's just bout how my Merdeka started, I did a lot of stuff after that la, which I'm not gonna blog about coz I'll only finish next week, and I have work to get back to... sigh... Me want a holiday :(

I wanna swim with the dolphins too!
